To preserve our castle’s future, we have to uncover its past.
Having rescued this hidden gem of a marcher castle, Snodhill Castle Preservation Trust (SCPT) now seeks a qualified person to help uncover its history.
The work, detailed in the attached brief, will combine documentary research with our own archaeological findings and other sources and is a core part of Fortifying the Future —a three-year project financed by The National Lottery Heritage Fund. We’re aiming for this assignment to commence on 01/09/2025 and conclude on 30/11/2025, with a total budget of £7,200 (inclusive of expenses and VAT).
The history of Snodhill is a largely untrodden path, and we believe it presents a unique opportunity for scholarship.
