From the Hereford Times
Tim Hoverd, Herefordshire Council’s Archaeological Projects Manager, has been recognised by Snodhill Castle Preservation Trust for his consistent support and advice to aid the trust in both archaeological exploration and preservation of the castle ruins.
He was presented with a deer antler walking stick, made by Peterchurch stick maker Colin Joy, and a carved and mounted antler depicting the castle, mounted on a polished yew plinth sourced from the castle site and turned by Bob Barnard, also from Peterchurch.
Trust Chair Garry Crook said:
“The support that Tim Hoverd has given the trust has been invaluable and is above and beyond the call of duty. We are so grateful for his assistance.”
Tim Hoverd said:
“I am surprised and pleased to be acknowledged in this way. Snodhill Castle is a fascinating place with so many secrets still to reveal. The Archaeology Service strongly supports local residents trying to preserve ancient remains for their communities.”
